Fashion Store Worked Around Closing Orders Using Instagram

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Detox, Designer Resale Boutique made up for a slump in-store sales suffered after it was temporarily closed for 30 days at the start of the coronavirus pandemic selling its clothes through Instagram Stories.

Husband and wife co-owners Jake Walsh and Kylie Walsh started using Instagram to model their consignment shop’s clothes in February. The visuals excited customers who were bored at home during Florida’s statewide stay-at-home coronavirus order.

“We have a lot of success with posting things on our Instagram Story,” Jake told Patch. “During our closure, we took most inventory home and just modeled it on Instagram, and we also did a few consignments then.”

A Brown Deer woman is accused of stealing jewelry while she worked for a home health care service and as a maid

A 28-year-old Brown Deer woman linked to numerous jewelry thefts at homes in several communities turned herself in to Mequon police Sept. 22.

Ieshanoe Govani was charged Sept. 18 in Ozaukee County Circuit Court with one count of felony theft. She was charged Sept. 25, also in Ozaukee County, with two additional counts of felony theft. 

The charges relate to thefts in Mequon, Thiensville and Cedarburg.

Mequon police said she has also been linked to three cases elsewhere in Ozaukee County, and two cases in Whitefish Bay. She denied involvement in a second Mequon case.

According to police, Govani said her former boyfriend, a 29-year-old Milwaukee man, suggested she steal jewelry, much of which he then sold.
