Fashion Store Worked Around Closing Orders Using Instagram

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Detox, Designer Resale Boutique made up for a slump in-store sales suffered after it was temporarily closed for 30 days at the start of the coronavirus pandemic selling its clothes through Instagram Stories.

Husband and wife co-owners Jake Walsh and Kylie Walsh started using Instagram to model their consignment shop’s clothes in February. The visuals excited customers who were bored at home during Florida’s statewide stay-at-home coronavirus order.

“We have a lot of success with posting things on our Instagram Story,” Jake told Patch. “During our closure, we took most inventory home and just modeled it on Instagram, and we also did a few consignments then.”

Jake said they maxed out their Instagram Stories every day, which many followers told them it was like watching the Home Shopping Network. Customers appreciated the Walshes providing exact measurements of the clothing items online since they were unable to

Colorful fall in store for Ohioans, says ODNR’s “fall color forester”

Sheridan Hendrix

| The Columbus Dispatch

Leaf peepers should find a traditional color season this fall.

In a year in which so much has been canceled or postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ohio Department of Natural Resources Forester Jamie Regula said one thing is still certain: Fall is here, and the leaves are changing with it.

Regula works most of the year as a state services forester, helping landowners manage their woodlands. But as autumn approached this year, Regula was bestowed the seasonal title of “Fall Color Forester.”

But what exactly does a Fall Color Forester do? And how do they predict how the leaves will change?

They look at lots and lots of data.

Any fall foliage predictions for a specific area begin with analyzing thousands of different data points on past weather conditions, average light exposure, latitude and altitude, and tree species.

Building that houses iconic Tacoma clothing store, barbershop to be razed for apartments

The building that houses two iconic businesses in Tacoma’s Hilltop is scheduled for demolition to make way for new apartments.

The current location of both the clothing store Mr. Mac Ltd. as well as Sam and Terry’s barbershop will be torn down.

Sam and Terry’s nearly packed up shop in 2018 but was purchased by the Tacoma Ministerial Alliance to rescue it from closure. The city’s first Black-owned barbershop was founded in 1958 by Sam Daniels and Larry Terry. Daniels died in 2013.

Sharing the same building on the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Way and Earnest Brazill Street, Mr. Mac Ltd. was run by Morris “Mr. Mac” McCollum for more than 50 years. McCollum died in 2017.

An event is set this weekend to celebrate his life and sell off much of the store’s merchandise, with proceeds going to the Tacoma Ministerial Alliance which also now owns

Jewelry store clerk brilliantly exposes cheating husband [Video]

When a cheating husband went to the jewelry store to buy a gift for both his wife and his girlfriend, the clerk helping him decided to expose him in the best way possible.

On Oct. 3, that clerk — Zoe Roe — posted a video to TikTok explaining how she alerted the man’s wife and girlfriend to his antics.

“So I work at a jewelry store and today a man came in looking for a gift for his wife for their ten-year anniversary,” Roe explained.

“He ended up picking out a piece that said ‘my beautiful wife’ and I said, ‘Anything else for you today?’” she asked.

The customer then said “no that’s it for her” and asked Roe is she could help him make a purchase using a separate card and on a different account.

Roe helped the man pick out a gift for his girlfriend, with whom he

Once the program begins Monday, customers will be able to bring in a garment they don’t want, which will be cleaned and put into a machine called Looop. The machine will disassemble it, shredding it into fibers that are then used to create new clothing.

The effort comes amid a rising volume of global clothing waste, and growing concern over fast fashion’s contribution to it.

The company said the recycling process, which can handle more than one garment at a time, doesn’t use water or chemicals
