Rose Lavelle goal video: USA star scores 1st for Man City Women

Rose Lavelle has followed in Sam Mewis’s footsteps.

Days after Mewis opened her scoring account with Man City Women in both the Women’s FA Cup and Women’s Super League competitions, Lavelle scored her first goal for the club, doing so against Everton in the Women’s League Cup.

Lavelle redirected home a corner kick after failing to be tracked on a near-post run to bring Man City level at 1-1 in the 52nd minute. Man City went on to win, 3-1, to earn three points in the opening match of the group stage of the competition. The six group winners and the top two second-place finishers advance to the knockout rounds.

Lavelle and Man City will get another crack at Everton in the FA Cup final, on Nov. 1 at Wembley Stadium. It was Mewis’s first goal for the club, against Arsenal in the semifinals, that punched the team’s ticket there.

Women’s Super League: West Ham United 0-1 Reading: Lauren Bruton scores winner for visitors

Reading registered their second Women’s Super League win of the season as a goal by Lauren Bruton proved enough to beat West Ham at Dagenham.

Burton forced the ball home from Natasha Harding’s cross after Reading had lost Fara Williams to injury.

West Ham went close to an equaliser after the break when Adriana Leon’s effort was tipped onto the post.

Keeper Grace Moloney excelled again by saving Kenza Dali’s penalty after she was adjudged to have fouled Leon.

The home side brought in Kate Longhurst and Emily van Egmond after a 9-1 home defeat by Arsenal in their most recent game on 12 September.

And they made a bright start with Maz Pacheco, Leon and Longhurst all trying their luck in the early exchanges.

But Danielle Carter went close in reply and, after Williams went off to be replaced by Brooke Chaplen, they took the lead when Bruton scored

Sam Mewis goal video: US star scores Man City FA Cup semis winner

Manchester City Women’s American duo is starting to make an impact.

Sam Mewis scored what wound up being the game-winner, while Rose Lavelle played her first minutes for the club in a 2-1 triumph over Arsenal in the Women’s FA Cup semifinals on Thursday. Man City will play Everton, a 3-0 semifinal winner over Birmingham City, in the Nov. 1 final at Wembley Stadium. These matches mark the completion of the 2019-20 tournament, which had been suspended as a result of the pandemic. The 2020-2021 competition is currently in the qualifying-round stages.

For Man City to reach the final, Mewis broke a 1-1 deadlock at the 40-minute mark, pouncing on a loose ball in the Arsenal box to complete a sequence that she started.

Mewis’s finish followed a superb goal by Jordan Nobbs, which had brought Arsenal level after Steph Houghton’s opener on an excellent free kick.

Tesla Model 3 scores poorly on European assisted driving tests

According to NCAP, however, the problems lie within a category called “driver engagement.” Testers said that the marketing materials don’t line up with the vehicle manual and could lead drivers to believe that the Model 3 does more than just driver assistance.

Tesla Model 3 NCAP rating

“Many aspects of the Model 3 are exemplary; its vehicle assistance is the best we saw in testing and it also aced the safety back up element,” wrote Thatcham Research, an independent group that carried out the trials. “However, it achieves a ‘moderate’ rating for poor driver engagement, with a design philosophy that is very much about the vehicle doing the driving. That would be appropriate for an automated vehicle — but this [testing is for] vehicle assistance.”

Mercedes’ GLE, the BMW 3 Series and Audi’s Q8 came out on top of the ratings. While they couldn’t match the Model 3’s level of technology, they achieved “a good
