Losses mount at French Connection

Fashion chain French Connection (FCCN.L) saw a loss of £12.2m ($15.69m) in the six months to 31 July 2020, compared with a loss of £3.6m during the same period in 2019, according to a company statement released on Tuesday.

The COVID-19 pandemic led to a “significant decline” in sales, forcing the business to shut down its stores from the end of March to mid-June, in line with UK government guidelines, it said.

This caused store sales to slump 57% to £10.1m in the six months to the end of July, compared to £23.8m in the same period last year.

2 arrested in connection with attack on woman in Daytona Beach for son’s wedding

Two men have been arrested in connection to an assault that critically injured a Tampa woman visiting Daytona Beach last month for her son’s wedding.

Daniel Leonard, 19, of Palm Coast was arrested on a warrant and charged with principal to aggravated battery.

Police say the other suspect, 23-year-old Kyle Oliver of Ormond Beach, punched the victim so hard she suffered a skull fracture and brain bleed.

Barry Burich spoke with WESH 2 News Monday from Shands Hospital, where his wife Pamela has been in ICU since the unprovoked attack.

Pamela, her husband and members of the wedding party were walking back to their hotel from a bar on Seabreeze Boulevard Sept. 12 when they passed a fight.

Authorities said Pamela Burich was hit so hard in the head, she’s been in intensive care though her husband says there are signs of improvement.
