Peru State’s new coach got his first win in remarkable fashion | Local sports

Peru State

Peru State running back Ki’Jana Owens had a career-high 173 rushing yards against Baker last week, including 142 in the second half.

Peru State looked like a different team during the second half of last Saturday’s game, turning a 10-3 halftime deficit into a 30-17 win over previously unbeaten Central Methodist.

Coach Casey Creehan offered a simple explanation for the turnaround.

“Our execution wasn’t where it needed to be” in the first 1½ games, said Creehan, whose team lost its opener 41-2 before last weekend’s comeback. “In the second half, we just executed better.”

It’s understandable that it took the Bobcats time to get on the same page.

Creehan, who coached Lyon College in Arkansas last season, took over at Peru at the beginning of March — just ahead of COVID-19 shutting down campuses for the rest of the spring.

Peru’s first two scheduled games were postponed

Broncos Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach Emily Zaler

Sports always played a huge role in every aspect of Emily Zaler’s life. Zaler was raised by a single mom and seeing her mother’s own strength shaped the way she lives her life as an adult.

Her mother taught her early on, “When you get knocked down, get right back up.”

As a kid, Zaler was always the only girl playing football in the street with the neighborhood kids. Emily started playing soccer at the age of five and from then on, began to work towards her dream of earning a college scholarship. Zaler grew up going to Arizona Cardinals games with her family but never saw women coaching on the sidelines.

“Because I couldn’t see it, the thought never crossed my mind that I could actually work in the NFL,” Zaler says.

Playing Division I soccer is where her passion for coaching really developed. It was then that she

Former Bermuda batsman David Hemp appointed Pakistan women’s coach

Pakistan have hired former Bermuda batsman David Hemp as the head coach of the national women’s side. He takes over from Iqbal Imam, who was temporarily working in the role. Hemp is the second foreigner roped in by the PCB to take charge of the women’s cricket team after New Zealander Mark Coles, who spent two years in the job before resigning in October last year. Since then, the PCB had been bringing in local coaches to fill the vacancy on a series-by-series basis.

Hemp, 49, is presently based in Australia and has worked with Melbourne Stars and Victoria in the Women’s Big Bash League between 2015 and 2020. As a cricketer, he played 271 first-class matches and scored over 15,000 runs for Glamorgan, Free State and Warwickshire. He represented Bermuda at international level, scoring 641 runs in 22 ODI innings that included a century and four half-centuries.

Differences Between Common Coach Bags And Factory Outlet Coach Luggage

Second hand garments are frequent amongst most people. Now, there are outlets in shopping malls which cater to different budgets. But there are plenty more shops the place tourists should buy clothes at very affordable prices. It is the second such trick artwork museum in Bangkok – the opposite, predictably, can be in a shopping mall, called The Esplanade.

Whether I get to visit this fabulous cosmopolitan city of Milan, Italy this 12 months or in years to come back, simply being launched to it because of my husband’s travels it has made my private bucket listing of places that I wish to someday experience.

Gotta love the Outlet Malls. Wholesale and overstock shopping websites are the place you’ll be able to actually avoid wasting cash. I used to put on them for fetish causes but as soon as I started carrying them all day I spotted that I really … Read More
